This is what she did when I said, "Ok! Show me your dress!"
Then, when I asked her what princesses say, she started singing softly, "La la la la la."
Poor thing. It's just not easy being a princess.

Princess Dress
She's dressed up in her tutu before and called herself a princess, but today she got her first ever REAL princess dress (and shoes) from the store. After her nap, she wiggled into it as fast as she could and agreed to allow the little people to take her picture.
She was in tears in no time because she kept stepping on her dress as she mounted the stairs on her way to her chambers. Then, she was in tears because she couldn't see herself close-up enough in her vanity. She about killed herself trying actually. When Josh held and soothed her after her near-fall, she started crying again because her gown was slipping off her shoulders.
Poor thing. It's just not easy being a princess.

Can the peasants not outfit the princess in a gown that fits properly and doesn't distress her? Off with their heads! :)
I know! I'm brainstorming ideas for tailoring it now...

All you have to do is get one of those safety, safety pins that you can find in the baby section somewhere and scrunch up the back of the dress so it doesn't fall off her shoulders.
It's what we do...and it works, and there's no tailoring.
As for stepping on it...she'll just have to grow a little bit more :)
I didn't even show Brooklyn this post of Anna, cuz all I'd be hearing for the next 5 months (till Christmas) is how she NEEDS a Rupunzel dress!

Hey - it was only $16 at Toys R Us...the other princess dresses were 49!! What is up with that price?!
Thankful for a daddy who can comfort the little princess, and a mama with a camera.
Also, I like Emily's way of tailoring.
Daddy = Comfort. Yes.
Mommy = Camera. Yes, too.
BUT, I also did the Catching so she didn't bust her little head. Then I had to pass her off and CATCH my breath - it was such a close call.
Tailoring (safety pin) - Check! She's been in it all day and setting her table (the ottoman) with cookies.
