Lasa's THIRD Birthday

Things that make the big THREE super sweet include custom-ordered Peppa Pig cookies,

long-distance birthday love from FL,

a text from Angelique,

balloooooons,

presents aplenty,

cake made by the sweetest big sister around,

the most perfect "three" birthday tee,

birthday spunk galore,

a momma taking 50 shots trying to get the perfect shot,

and making a wish while blowing out the candles ("How I make a wish?" she said.)

Gifts included Thomas the Train and tracks and engines, water coloring set, restickable bandaid book,  play sandwich making set, Hello Kitty dominoes, bubble gum, and a Wellie Wisher doll she named Dora-then-Rosa-then-Rosie-then-Memaw-then-Mia.

Oh yeah! She also got a punching bag and it's just the most perfect thing for a three year old.

Then it was pinata time!

And then it was bounce house time.

Lasa was just a precious angel about waiting til the weekend to celebrate her birthday when her birthday actually fell on a Thursday.  This year's birthday ended up being a more potent jolt of joy - I didn't realize until it was all over.  I think it was because this is her first birthday that she was OURS ours?  I don't know.  It was just sweet and it really hit the spot.

Lasa's First Preschool Day

I can't even {think} about school for this week or next, BUT the littlest Brown got her school year underway today bright and early.

This year, she is attending preschool with other teachers' kids in the school district where Josh works, Lebanon Special School District, which is half an hour away.  She will go twice a week with Josh to work/school and not come home until he does ... so like 7:00-5:00 days.  We will get a bunch of school stuff done on those days while we are toddler free and Lasa and Josh will realllllly bond on the commute and drop-off and pick-up routine they will share this year.  Felt so weird to send her off having never been there myself and having not met the teachers.  But Josh is all over this and we LOVE what a diverse student body she will get to be a part of there, as opposed to the classfuls of blue-eyed, blond-haired kiddos she was surrounded by last year.  She has grown up so much in the past few months; I just know this will be a big growing year for her.  It's exciting!

Frontier Camp at Rock Castle

I don't have a single picture of my own, but am glad for these from the FB page.  Anna attended the summer activity of her choice a couple weeks ago - Frontier Camp.  It was every bit her cup of tea.  They learned survival skills, history stuffs, built fires, whittled spears, set up shelters, swam in the lake, learned to identify poisonous plants, etc.  She came home exhausted and so pleased every day!

Summer Home

Cousins, VBS, Rain

Just some pics and points I loved from this past couple weeks.

Cousins...

The week after visiting cousins, and all while we went back and forth with Lynn and Tracy, I also worked VBS each night with the 4/5 year olds.  It was a great week.  But that also left me beat.  HA!

And yesterday we had a lovely heavy downpour.  I tried to get Lasa to go play in the torrent, but she shied away.  UNTIL, Josh yanked off his socks and went out with her.  What giggly fun!
