Halloween + Blooper Pics

First, the annoying and obligatory school costume hoop to jump through first thing in the morning.  That Lasa was NOT having.  I wasn't about to send her actual costume for them to shove in her backback after they were done, so we sent the Belle gown that she picked out instead.  But still, when it came time to get it on, she was ... uh... moody.

Josh and coworkers as the Toy Story 4 Crew.

Time for the real Halloween stuff.  Solo pics!
Nella the Princess Knight.

Steve from Minecraft.  It was a close call this year on his dressing up at all.  In the end, he opted for a compromise ... just a mask, no full body costume. Lucky for him, Steve wears regular clothes. Ha!

Mal from Descendants.  We sprayed her hair purple.  It looked cool!  Only shows up slightly in the pic though.

Blooper pics that I just can't cut.  They are fun!

Keeper!

It was 35 degrees out so I dropped out of trick or treating.  But I had three layers on the kids and Josh had a brand new heated coat, so off they tromped for an hour of trick or treating.  I stayed home to give out candy to the three trick or treaters that came down our little cul-de-sac.  HA!

When Lasa was done, they came home and Lasa got busy "collecting" the candy categories. We let the big kids go back out for another round by themselves.  First time trick or treating solo!  We sent them with the house phone and strict instructions to stay together.  Went just fine.  Glad for them!  Big kids rock.

So happy to be in November now.  Bring on family pics this weekend and THEN I will heave a sigh of relief and enjoy the holidays as they roll in.

Lucy/Luke Update

Update - He stays!  We just weren't comfortable passing our precious one off to strangers on Craigslist though we heard from a couple people.  And the friends who were considering him, decided to hold off still.  And Josh's mom and aunt gifted some dollahs toward his surgery and the kids committed to $25 each for it as well.  That came to a little over half of the surgery, so we decided it was worth the other half to just keep the last bunny that we love so stinking much because he is the BEST lap bunny of all six of them.

And truly, it has been a sigh of relief to settle on keeping him.  Surgery is set for Nov. 11.  He seems to be pretty chill about his separation in the greenhouse til then.  Glad for that! Welcome back home, Lucy-now-Luke.  We just love ya!  You're my fave because of how happy you make my Noah.

For the fun of it, some pics from the other day of the other five as they roamed and lounged around the backyard.   First up, Valley, who has seemed to claim this region of the yard.  She has even begun chasing the others off when they come around here.  Kinda funny!

Jenny sprawled long and flat like an area rug and staying close to the bunny bin, like the homebody she is. I love that about her.

Padme and Shade.  These two are SO bonded.  Sharing a litter of babies will do that to you, I guess.

Millie, such a cutie, is the most active in the back yard.  She goes all over!  And Anna is getting her used to being held more too.  Maybe she will take after her brother, Luke.

Wise Things

  • God doesn't always make his will clear because he values our being transformed more than our being informed in order that we will be conformed to the image of Jesus.  ~Jon Bloom

Injustice According to Anna

I abruptly handled a dispute this week between Noah and Anna and doled out consequences to drive home my message. Noah and Anna got the same consequence, but Anna still felt she got the raw end of the stick.  She voluntarily stayed home alone while the rest of us went shopping afterward and when we returned home that day I found this masterpiece on Injustice waiting for me on my bed.  Anna processes in poetry apparently. ;)  And Hebrew.
