In Which Anna Loves a Trim

Anna is growing her hair out and doesn't want to cut it, but I insisted it needed a trim.  So we squeezed that in yesterday and I splurged and let her get her hair washed while there too, which she loves.  She is gaga with how much healthier it looks now.  She said last night before bed that she thinks she would like to get trims more regularly because it feels so much more refreshing and soft and clean now.  🤣😍  Precious.

Is it just me or is she growing into such a lovely thing?  I just keep staring at her!

Weekend Highlights

Redeemer Women's Event/Viewing Party for sessions from The 2018 Gospel Coalition Women's Conference this month.  We got together Friday night and Saturday morning into afternoon.  Pic from the morning session...

Back at home, Josh and the kids watched a movie on the back porch, even watching some of it from the hot tub!   We finished it up together the second night on this wonderfully cool weekend.  Such a gift!  And such a pleasing and simple summer memory.

And on Friday, in the rain, we went to the zoo regardless since it was Josh's day off.  So glad we did!  It was cooler for the rain and it ended only 20 minutes or so after we got there.  Was a really nice time together again!  Glad for the membership there so we can mozy around the place and just hit our faves without feeling like we have to pack it all in or take pics of everything.

Sunday,  the big kids and I scooted out to see The Incredibles 2, too.  Good, full, long, busy weekend!

Is He Worthy?

At first, I didn't like the slowness of this song, but they kept doing it at church and it has grown on me in a big way.  It gets me emotional with its truth,  its Q/A confession and testify style lyrics.  Anyway, I just love it now.  Fave lines in bold.

Is He Worthy?
by Andrew Peterson

Do you feel the world is broken? (We do)
Do you feel the shadows deepen? (We do)
But do you know that all the dark won't stop the light from getting through? (We do)
Do you wish that you could see it all made new? (We do)

Is all creation groaning? (It is)
Is a new creation coming? (It is)
Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst? (It is)
Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? (It is)

Is anyone worthy?  Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy of this?
He is

Does the Father truly love us?  (He does)
Does the Spirit move among us? (He does)
And does Jesus, our Messiah, hold forever those He loves?  (He does)
Does our God intend to dwell again with us? (He does)

Is anyone worthy?  Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave

From every people and tribe, Every nation and tongue
He has made us a kingdom and priests to God to reign with the Son
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Is He worthy of this?
He is!

Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
He is!
He is!

Finishing Flag Football

Sunday was the kids' last games, thankyouLord.  It was unbearably hotter and hotter with each passing week. Ha!  Noah and Anna loved their seasons and Anna can't wait to play again in the fall.  Anna was also tickled to score two touchdowns in the last game.  Noah made some excellent end zone stops on defense himself.

Noah shots from last game ... right after a cloudburst that dropped the temp 20 degrees.  It was glorious!

Anna shots from last game, before and during the rain, which they played through.

Good spring football season!
