Why, Lucy, Whyyyyyyy?!?

Lucy, the second little white one we decided to keep, who turned all adorable lop-eared on us, has turned out to be the BEST bunny pet yet.  Sorrynotsorry - she has become mine and Noah's favorite.  Noah has been so diligent to handle and play with her every day so she will be more willing to be handled all the days of her life.  And it has worked out well so far.  BUT - our suspicions were raised last week and our hopes were dashed when we found out that Lucy is actually ... a boy.  Our Lucy is a Luke.  His marking his territory by peeing on the other bunnies is what really tipped us off.  Also, there has started to be some bunny fighting going on that we noticed by clumps of fur being all over the ground.  We suspect that was fighting between Luke and out other male, Shade.

Ever so sadly, Luke immediately got listed on Craiglist and Facebook and, if we are lucky, some friends from church might just take him on here after Fall Break.  The timing has worked out perfect and they already have a coop they can use for him.

However, we are at the point of broken-heartedness at the thought of letting Luke go, that Josh is willing to just project status some plasma donations this month to pay for Luke's neutering if no takers officially step up in time.  Though it really does stink to have to keep him separated from the rest of the bunny crew in the meantime.  The vet wants him to be 6 months before she will do the surgery.  We are going to beg and plead with her to consider a 5 month age instead if it ends up that no one takes him. Wish us luck on either end ... a happy new home or a cooperative vet.  She did Shade at 5ish months.  There is hope!  I can't believe we are going to do it again if it comes to that.

Also, pleaseLorddon'tletanyofourbunniesbepregnantalready!  I just can't ...
