Winter's First Snow Day

For once, the weatherman got it straight ... and right on time.  Schools closed, snow came, Josh didn't have to go to work, a free fun day at home was had.  And we also did school ...because homeschool freedom rocks.

That's not a snowball he's making, but the start of Anna's snowman.  This snow wasn't exactly sticky, so it took some work.

Conversely, Noah and our neighbor, Baron, DID work on snowballs.

Sledding also got started.

Baby, who is sick with another cold, suited up just enough to come out and see all the white stuff.

Anna continued work on her snowman using a kit we have had for yearssssssssss waiting on a snowman-sort-of-snow to fall.

By then, Noah and Baron had moved on to building a ramp for better sledding - think hangtime.

Snow day success was met.  Adorable!

Then it was time to test out the sledding ramp.  You can see Noah just taking off here.

Anna, the lighter of the two, flew! She was so light, she about fell off after her airtime.

Noah kept at it until we saw his poor sensitive skin flaming up even with all we did to keep his face covered.  We packed it in for the day at that point.

Snow Day 1 complete.  Tomorrow, schools are closed again because all this melted snow will freeze over again tonight.  And the word is that more snow is coming Friday.  Hope so!

We have an extra sled we didn't even pull out today.  And a snow brick mold.  And a snowball thrower.  Need. More. Snow.
