Last Day of 31

Yes.

On this, my last day of being 31, I am staining a table, vacuuming, laundering, dusting blinds, making beds, wiping baseboards and more in happy anticipation of most of Josh's family coming to visit for the weekend.  I am actually pretty tickled with the things my vacuum can do that I did not ever pay attention to before now.  Still, I told Josh to get a quick gander at me dusting the blinds because it's not likely to happen again for another 5 years.

But I digress.  Where was I?  Oh yes, getting things ready for company.  On this, my last day of being 31, what should my eyes happen to find tucked away in Noah's room for me, hidden ever so carefully behind his curtains?

A mural ... finger painted in poop.  !!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And again I say !!!!!

Oh, happy birthday to me.  It is a glamorous life I lead, indeed.

(and lucky for you, it is a work of I art that I will not capture in pictures...though the thought did occur to me)

Well, hmm, where to begin...
I am busy trying to finish a mid-term paper, mid-term tests, and weekly assignments so I can have a care-free time and Carol is working on laundry and repacking. We're under a tornado watch so I thought I'd better get online and see if it was time to duck and cover because it is awfully dark and yucky out there. What do I find, but your blog. And?
Okay, so we're both laughing at you! One because, well, you're going through it and we're way past that (or at least I hope mine are). Two, because it never fails that when you're busy cleaning for company some surprise inevitably occurs.
:) :) :)
Happy early Birthday!

(oh, and even if you don't post the picture you should still capture the "moment")

Here's another laugh for you two - I just realized that one of Noah's pull-ups went through the laundry - leaving behind a ton of fuzzy particles that WILL NOT COME OFF. Back into the wash it all goes...

SOOOo funny! And So gross! I had heard only boys do that poop painting thing, but I do remember Natalie diving in her diaper a time or two while she was still in her crib...disgusting.

Guess it wasn't a stinky poop. LOl!!!!

Can I just say... I am laughing out loud at yours and Amy's comments and the thought of all that's going on at her house... and all that will be soon will be going on at yours when they arrive. I am SO SO SO happy for you that you are soon to be surrounded by people who love you. What a great gift!

Can I also say... I've been thinking of your birthday for weeks. Really. I have a package sitting on the floor here near me, but it's missing one important thing. A thing I've been searching for all over Prague and have yet to find because it's just not time yet. In a few weeks, it will be, but right now it's not. Sorry to be so cryptic, but I needed to tell you that you're loved and thought of and will need to extend the birthday celebration because a package from Prague will be there... one day.

And the last thing I'll say... this post is hysterical. What a great memory of your last day of 31. :)

Emily - You do know he didn't intend it to be painting...he was just trying to get rid of the evidence by wiping it off. (imagine a grossed out sneer on my face even as I type this out)

Elizabeth - so intrigued. and so surprised! and even more humbled that you'd put yourself out to send me anything - I wish I could make you stop! I'm sure I can't though, so I'll just happily guess at what you are looking for ... hmmmm...so it's not time yet? seeds, then?

It's funny, too, because 32 reminds me of you.

First off...Happy Birthday to you, my sweet friend!

And really what can I say about the poop mural? There are no words but there is a lot of LOLing over here.

Lucky for me, I have the sense of humor to laugh at it, too!

Thanks, Shannon!
