Celebrating the Fourth

The night before the fourth, Hendersonville did their fireworks show.  It was so fun to meet up with Redeemer peeps for those festivities.  There were friends, popsicles, glow sticks, holiday gear, sparklers, and of course fireworks.  Even better, the weather was cool after some rain and we were at a pretty waterside location off the main road and away from the big crowds.

These were Lasa's first fireworks, since we were actually on the road last July 4th.  She enjoyed them, which was even more fun to watch!

Then, on the actual fourth, we enjoyed more laid back festivities with a dip and a dinner with good friends in the neighboorhood.

Cindy and James made ribs, bbq, and banana pudding. Susie and George brought key lime dip/spread with fruit topping and corn on the cob. We brought watermelon, baked beans, and tomatoes (of course!).  It was all so delish!

After dinner and down time, we headed over to Susie's to take in a bunch of people's homemade fireworks display in the 'hood. It was pretty neat!  Since the firework ban has just recently been lifted in Gallatin, there were huge fireworks going off on all sides for a couple hours.  Fun energy was just in the air and the kids all frolicked all over the yard "ooohing" and "aaaaahing" and declaring this to be the best 4th ever. :}

Josh has the entire week off this week, so the fun of the fourth feels like it will roll on through the weekend.  Grateful!
