Such a short and packed week! Monday was Labor Day and we played and played with buddies who were out of school for the holiday. Tuesday, also, had friends out of school for parent-teacher conferences, so we took the opportunity to take a lighter school day ourselves with another trip to the zoo.
Wednesday and Thursday we packed in iMom and speech and baseball and two days of school and, by the end of the week, took some homeschool friends up on an invite to check out the Frist Center for Visual Arts in Nashville.
There was an art-deco car exhibit going on while we were there. Anna picked a favorite.
And Noah picked a favorite, too.
After some oohing and aahing over the sleek designs and interesting shapes and sizes of all the old-timey cars
and snapping a pic (at Noah's request) of his newest favorite buddy, Dagan,
we headed upstairs to the main attraction for us, ArtQuest!
It's a section designed just for budding little artists and designers.
Cranking out his print finished product - a lego man, of course.
Anna creating a fairy home with all the magnetic tree and wood pieces. Really neat!
Noah, Cole, and Cade teaming up to create a stop-motion movie. Oh, the giggling that went on here!
This was as simple as dry-erase markers, but clearly, so much fun!
Noah still tends to draw people with heads and legs only, so I was relieved in my heart when he actually drew this model with body and joints as he saw them. :}
Anna skipped the model and went straight for a princess with a gown and all. :}
And as if the day couldn't be any more special already, we headed over to Centennial Park for a picnic and more play in the GORGEOUS 86 degree weather.
Can you believe I went all the way in and around downtown Nashville all by myself TWICE this week? Anyway, the trip was such a treat, Noah made a point to thank me for taking them out for such a great day. I believe he even called it the best day ever. ♥
