He's been practicing twice a week for over a month now and today Noah and his fellow Tiger teammates finally took the field in their first game of the fall season.
This whole coach-pitch thing has really upped the ante in terms of skill, challenge, and competition, but it's been a good upgrade and we are enjoying watching Noah raise the bar for himself as a result. He has work to do to shine among the team, but he is capable and is improving already. He falls in the middle of the batting line-up
and he plays third base infield.
Today he struck out at his first turn at bat, but he swung hard all three times.
He rotated to outfield for two innings and while he didn't get any action out there, he did manage to battle a bee and win decisively.
And at his second turn at bat, he connected and made it to first. :} I really should video his next hit because the little celebration dance he does out there is too adorable.
At the bottom of the 6th and last inning, his team pulled out a win to take the game 6-5. Little boys celebrating a hard won fight are so fun to hear. Or maybe it was just fun because we knew the game finally was over and we were headed to A/C asap. It was H-O-T, y'all. Anna and I were dying.
Josh spent the game helping in the dugout and did a bang-up job keeping the kids in order and ready for their turn at bat.
Number 3 after his first coach-pitch game.
And a bonus shot he requested so he could see how his first ever face paint looked. :}
Cute enough to eat, if you ask me!
