Amens: 1, 2 John

1 John 1: 2 - The Word of Life appeared right before our eyes; we saw it happen! And now we're telling you in most sober prose that what we witnessed was, incredibly, this: The infinite Life of God himself took shape before us.

1 John 1: 5 - God is light, pure light; there's not a trace of darkness in him.

1 John 2: 2,3 - Here's how we can be sure that we know God in the right way: Keep his commandments.

1 John 2: 16, 17 - Practically everything that goes on in the world - wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important - has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out - but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.

1 John 5: 3 - The proof that we love God comes when we keep his commandments and they are not at all troublesome.

1 John 5: 6 - Jesus - the Divine Christ! He experienced a life-giving birth and a death-killing death.

2 John 6 - Love means following his commandments, and his unifying commandment is that you conduct your lives in love. This is the first thing you heard, and nothing has changed.
