One of the field trip groups we are a part of hit up the TN State Capitol this week. I have to admit - I only went for exposure for the kids. I was pretty sure it would be a little over their heads, but worthwhile just the same and it would allow us to check this Nashville sightseeing destination off the list. But, gosh! It was really interesting, attached to so many things the kids have learned this year, I learned so many things, and we got to see real gov't stuff in action, even got to take a pic with TN Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris, even got to see Gov. Haslam walk by a couple times with his security detail in high alert every time. HA! Noah made some cool Star Wars connections to the Senate part of our tour. ;) And since we were downtown already with a whole day at our disposal and (bonus) Josh had the day off to go with us, we hit up McKay's Used Book Store afterwards and made $100! Good Monday!
Even better, this was the first day of our Spring Break and the kids STILL earned a day's worth of school credit. :)
