Summery Miscellanea

This past week of summer, I continued to enjoy my official post and view that goes like this...

I laugh at the very idea that I was going to get a head start with Noah's school year this week.  Ha!  Bwahahahahaaa!  Hilarious.  Summer is too much fun to rush.  Especially a sweet summer as mild as the one we have been enjoying.

This week, there was one hot day when the sun shone so hard the heat index topped 100, so we found ways to amuse ourselves indoors.  That meant playing hard at Hoppity Hop.  I hoped Noah would knock his creepy loose tooth out in the process, but it was not to be. : /

Another day, Josh pulled "the bubble" back out and set it up on the porch for the kids to play in again.  I even got in, for once. :}

Anna fancied herself a version of Roald Dahl's character, Violet Beauregard, blowing up like the blueberry in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  Not a bad comparison actually.  Ha!

Speaking of blueberries, we hit up the blueberry patch this week!

We got together with good friends and picked to our hearts' content on an AMAZING 80 degree day.  Simply gorgeous!

We even picked some of the early blackberries we could spy in the next section over.

And since it was so nice out, we wandered around the rest of Bottom View Farm just so we could stay out in the day longer.

Love these bench shots Adrian snapped!

Get a load of Anna over there, embracing her silly side.

Ice cream was a must while we were there.

Weeeeeee!

Sip o' water, old school style.

What's better than an 80 degree day in July with friends?  An 80 degree day in July with friends and a Josh who got off work at noon for a looooong holiday weekend.  Yard work and "train rides" it was!

We are also enjoying keeping up with soccer this summer in the World Cup.  We are troubled, however, by how wimpy the players are and how dramatically they fuss when they fall.  In this shot, Anna scampered to the play room and brought back a paci for the poor boys on the screen.  So funny!

Josh has been doing some home improvement projects lately.  Currently, the front door and porch banisters are getting a fresh coat of paint.  Noah is earning pay along the way by helping out.

And our garden keeps growing!  Every day, more goodies are ready to harvest.  :)  I take that back, most of our garden keeps growing; the snap peas are a bit finicky and every day a different vine turns more and more yellow and gets yanked up. :S

And that concludes this week's installment of Summer Miscellanea.

That's funny about the paci for the soccer players. Your garden veggies look great! We still don't have many tomatoes.

I forget ... did you plant cucumbers? If not, I will drop you by a couple this week. Noah will not be able to keep up with the ones that will be ready in few days. The more we pick, the more they come in ... which is the newest gardening fact I learned while googling about those durn snap peas. :S

Looks like a fun summer! We've had several friends over to swim already, and we're enjoying our low key summer finally too! Sad to see it end :(

Your in-laws must love you for posts like this. I'm sure it makes the miles between you seem not quite so far when they can know all these fun details of your kiddos lives. You're so good at this.

Well, thanks!! I feel like I have fallen behind in the blogging world. Since homeschooling, my posts have dropped by about 50%, but I reassure myself that that is part of our season right now and I wouldn't change a thing.
