Disney: Downtown, Epcot, Resort

The Sunday after Thanksgiving, we hugged the Browns goodbye and made our way to Orlando. Our long-awaited Disney trip had finally arrived!

We checked into our hotel

and then made a beeline for Downtown Disney, which we love.  We had a special dinner date that night with a dear old friend of mine from high school and college.  We were both in each other's weddings and have shared a couple girls' weekend over the years since having kiddos.  And since she recently moved to Orlando, it was a special treat to get to hug her neck again while we were there. Love ya, Heather!

Our group shot turned out impressively good!  Anna sported a sour face, yes, but don't mind her. You will see a couple more of those as we go through our Disney trip. :}

Over the course of our week at Disney, we spent two days at Magic Kingdom, one day at Epcot, and a day at Animal Kingdom.  The second day at Epcot was a total drag and only warranted a couple pics at all, so I'll just skip that day altogether in terms of blog posts, except for this one pretty shot I managed to snap on our way out.

After our crappy day at Epcot, we napped hard to recover and headed out to see the displays around the resort and play at the playground. It also helped that it finally cooled off by nighttime.

Another sweet spot on property was the little pool nearest our room.

We stayed in The Little Mermaid area of the resort, by the way.

The big pool was near the lobby, gift shop, and cafeteria.  We were sure to hit that spot at least once.

It also had an adorable splash pad!  This may have been an economy resort, but Disney did it up so well.  We were really happy with our hotel accommodations.

Our hotel even had its own little arcade area that the kids enjoyed the night before we left.

Noah, in particular, had a blast.  Josh laughed that this might have been the best (and least inflated) $30 we spent the whole week.  Ha!

Our last night there, we did hop over to check out another Disney resort - Animal Kingdom Lodge.  So impressive.  It was gorgeous inside.  And there are, literally, animals just outside the rooms!

Noah and Anna enjoyed a bongo/conservation lesson from a couple South Africans while we were there.

Our hotel sign by night, just because.

Next up, all the action at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom!
