We've had another round of germs take down my people here this past weekend just as the last germfest was leaving. Noah and Lasa both landed back at the dr again and Josh really should have gone too. His coworkers swear he must have had the flu. He took a day and half off to rest, but he still sounds like death mostly. Anna, bless it, is over her strep and done with antibx, but she busted a brace already so we landed back at an extra appt for repairing that, too. 3 kids, 10 days, 7 doctors appts ... NINE if you count both of Noah's language therapy sessions. Lordhelpus.
Noah went down with pinkeye which we diagnosed at home and started treating with leftover drops from last time. But then he went down with a relentless headache a couple days in a row that I was just sure it would be strep, but it wasn't. It was an ear infection. Go figure. I can't even remember a time he has ever had one of those! So he's on antibiotics. While at the dr, she didn't like the sound of his breathing and had us start him back on Pulmicort and albuterol, stuff he hasn't needed in a long time! He is to stay on the Pulmicort through May now, which is a first. He's only ever used it during the winter months before. It worries me that his allergies might be about to take him for another ride. His allergist said it would be likely to happen again in his teens...
Then Lasa went down again with a fever. What is WITH this girl following Noah a day behind with similar symptoms again? We went to the dr over the weekend (God bless TN Peds for their after hours and weekend hours!!) and strep was negative, but she had an ear infection too. That, and the dr said her tube has come out on that side and is hanging out in her ear canal. Lovely! She gave Lasa a shot of antibiotics that hobbled the poor child for 2 days and she also sent us home with a whole other 10 day cycle of a third antibiotic.
I am so over all this and all the medicine regimens two and three times a day x however many kids are on them. A friend dropped an essential oil blend off for ME today by surprise ... something she calls Jesus, Take the Wheel. HA!! I love it. And the kind gesture and support.
If we are lucky, my people will be almost whole and ready to rock and roll for their trip this Friday. Fingers crossed!
