Snow Day Shenanigans

You'll hear no complaining outta me or my crew that we had another snow dumped on us last night.  Anna is off school today and tomorrow as a result.  That comes to 9 snow days out of school so far. Not bad at all.  Best snow year yet!

And this snow that came in last night was soft and fluffy, not hard and icy, so we call that a win as well!

Noah tried to throw a snowball at us, but it's just not the sticky snowball-making kinda snow still.  It dissolved into a cloud of cold dust in his face as soon as he let it go.  Ha!

Josh answered back with a SHOVEL full of snow.
All's fair in love and war, kid.

Later on in the afternoon

we tried sledding on a hill in the front of the neighborhood with buddies.

That was fun!

Also, that was freezing. :}

Claire decided the cold air was for the birds and headed back to the car. Ben followed shortly after. :}

It was just us a for little bit again.  These guys workin' the sleds and...

this gal workin' the camera.

It went like so:  Daddy runs, pulls, flingsssssssss...

kiddos ride, squeal, giggle...

slow to a topple...

absentmindedly clamor out, roll around, lick the snow, poke the snow, etc ...

and finally collect themselves and get back up the hill to repeat.

Craig, Cathy, Emma, and Everett showed up just in time to give my crew their second wind.

Noah joined forces with Everett.

Anna, her tongue, and Emma off to the races themselves.

By this point, I had reached my "cuttingly cold" capacity, what with my wearing no coat and only a pair of yoga pants.  :}  Anna, Cathy, and I warmed in the car for a bit before braving a few more minutes in frigid winds for the sake of family togetherness and fun.

It's gonna get icy tonight while temps remain well below freezing which would make for even more speedy sledding tomorrow ... if Josh didn't haven't to return to work ... and if he hadn't pulled his groin muscle there at the end of all the running and the flinging. : /  Nevermind that... snow memories have been made!  Wishful snowy prayers have been answered.  Thankful for this winter together. :D
