Bragging on the Boy

Noah may not be as independant a worker as I would like him to be sometimes.  And he can hit a brick wall with new math concepts other times, but boy-oh-boy, can that boy can read.  Really well.  At last check via Star Test that Josh set him up with an account for, he tested at a middle fourth grade reading level.  Which goes hand in hand with this other feedback Josh pulled up from Noah's work on AR this school year...

And that doesn't even count the two chapter books he took a test on this week that bumped his word count up to 360,000+.

If there's one thing Noah can be confident in academically, it is his reading.  Back when he was just a wee little tike and we knew by watching his development that school stuff would not always come as easily to him as it did for us, we committed to having him read to, read with, and reading alone because THAT exposure and practice is the springboard for success across all the subjects he will stare down in his academic career.  We made it a goal to make him fluent and comfortable and proficient with words, words, words.  It is so satisfying to see every year since that that has happened ... and happened so successfully.  Proud of Noah!
