Pumpkin Patch

Our Jackson's Orchard plans were cancelled this morning and it was like a sucker punch because we had already all gotten up early to leave on time and were about to head out.  Alas, too much mud for the hayride, they said.  Josh, who was off for the day, insisted we give our local Bottom View Farm our day instead.  I was skeptical that it wouldn't be too muddy there as well, but I gave in.  And I am so glad I did.  It was a great morning at the farm!  Monday plans redeemed. :D

For the first time in 9 years, I rode the giant pedal tractor!

Lasa's precious "baby pumpee" and the super cool green one Anna picked ... that I picked for her and hoped she would want to pick for herself, too. ;)

This shot cracks me up because I was trying to see Lasa, but all that comes through is Josh's silhouette sliding behind her.  Turned out, she didn't need the escort after all.  This surprised us because she is "gared" of everything new lately.

She was too scared of the corn crib at first.  Took her a LONG time to warm up to actually stepping inside.  But warm up, she did!

We left when the kids were all tired and had done EVERYTHING except the hay maze which we forgot until we saw it while driving out. That happens to us every year!  We forget that til the end when we are all wiped.  Sorry, hay maze.

We leave in one day for the beach.  I feel like we are missing the best part of fall by going to the beach mid-October.  If we are lucky, we will decide mid-October is the best part of summer for the beach.  HA!

And really, it was SHE who scooted closer into him in alarm when the hayride got going and had her hand gripping his leg. 😍 When I saw her holding onto his hand as well, I couldn't get my camera clicking fast enough.
