Language Love

I don't think I will ever not relish a good word!  When I come upon an unusual word, a challenging word, a beautiful word, a strong word, a new word, a perfectly timed and apt word ... I just can't help but stop and loooook at it, consider it, deconstruct it, define it, practice it, record it, love it!  Here are my latest word loves and linguistic intrigues. WordNerdforlife!  Faves in bold...

redound - contribute greatly to (a person's credit or honor)
stratified - arrange or classify
colorism - prejudice or discrimination against individuals with a dark skin tone, typically among people of the same ethnic or racial group
quackery - dishonest practices and claims to have special knowledge/skill in some field
oppugn - to call into question the truth or validity of
limpid - (of a person's eyes) unclouded, clear;  (especially of writing or music)clear and accessible or melodious
speedwell - small creeping herbaceous plant or northern temperate regions
blackguard - a person who behaves in a dishonorable or contemptible way; abuse or disparage scurrilously
redoubtable- formidable, especially as an opponent
bibelot -  a small, decorative ornament or trinket
perfidious - deceitful and untrustworthy
salvo -  a sudden burst, a spirited attack; the release all at one time of a rack of bombs/rockets
toothsome - temptingly tasty; good looking, attractive
parsimony - extreme unwilling to spend money or use resources
agita -  anxiety, stress, or aggravation
