Lasa + Angelique

It's been awhile since I updated about Angelique. She has been released early and been in contact right away about visiting.  The first week fell apart at the last minute, but Angelique was there with bells on for our visit last weekend.  Since it was so cold out, we met up at Monkey Joe's.  Lasa loved it and we liked how it gave us room to give them room to play on their own.

This is Cherish, Angelique's baby sister.  She is 9, so she was perfect for keeping Noah and Anna company.  I loved watching my family and Angelique's enjoy time together.

I love how big Angelique's smiling here!

We are supposed to visit with her again today at a play area in the mall.  But then next week, Lasa's atty. said Angelique will be getting served papers via certified mail about the TPR filing, so we are anxious to see what happens after that.  She shouldn't be too surprised since we spoke to her about this in October, but we have already had a mini-run-in with her this year (over legal documents for Lasa) so this could trigger any number of responses from her.  Please pray the Spirit will overrule her typical instincts and just infuse this whole thing with peace and calm.  Even more, pray with us that she might be receptive to the idea of signing in agreement with us!

Not great. :( Which is not to say it didn't go smoothly for her and Lasa or that it didn't go civilly enough (just barely) between us. Just ... red flags up all over the place now after a conversation with Angelique where we boiled down to just having to agree to deal with it all in court. :(

I was just thinking earlier this week about Angelique and wondering what the latest was... so I was happy to read your post. But am sad for you all to read your response to Emily. Sigh. I'm so sorry this process doesn't seem to be going smoothly. Surely she understands / understood what was coming. Will be praying for all of you!

Thank you! I am not so sure she is WILLING to understand/accept what is coming/has come. It does make conversations like this ... tense ... and confusing. I had to gently remind her that we are bound by LAW to be in charge of everything relating to Lasa. She didn't wanna hear that. Kept speaking as if her blood trumps that. Kept saying, 'She's MY daughter," to which I would agree, she is. But HAD to put in that, at this point, she is OUR daughter, too. She at least didn't deny that fact, which was, to me, a good sign.

Speaking of updates - you owe me one!
