In addition to all the help and love that has poured in in just the perfect details over the last three weeks, a friend of mine who is a photographer (Pamela) offered to do a free newborn session for Lasa to give to momma. What a thoughtful blessing! Scheduling got hairy, though, when we thought we were returning her Wednesday and then ended up keeping her after all. We made another plan to meet Friday for baby pics, but when another friend (Becky) kept Lasa for me to make a Vandy appt run with Anna on Thursday, she got busy and took a bunch of baby pics while she had her instead! Do you see that? Blessing upon blessing. This baby girl may not have had the welcome into this world that we think she should have had by her own family and their friends. But the Lord has orchestrated a support system of friends here around us that has eagerly, lovingly, and generously stood in that gap. Baby is celebrated - by us and by our family of friends, and by the Lord her creator. Blessing upon blessing.

I got all weepy and happy over these shots of this angel like I did over baby pics of my own kiddos. I love fostering! It's been a trip, but I am all about it. The Lord has faithfully steadied us through all the demands of newborn and DCS and beyond.

So beautiful. She is 3 weeks old today and has become quite alert and responsive over the last week. Makes you fall even more in love.
