I don't know when I will have time to read for leisure again, so I better just go ahead and report my list of newest words now.  As usual, faves are defined.

anastrophe - the inversion of the usual order of words or clauses.
estival
palliate - to disguise the seriousness or gravity of
moiety
comeuppance - punishment or fate that someone deserves
longanimity - calmness in the face of suffering and adversity
contumely - insolent or insulting language

Confession - a few of these I picked up by stalking my Webster Dictionary app for the Word of the Day each day.  I can't not look!  :}
