Mem'l Day at Don Fox Park

It's a bright, hot, and cicada-infested Memorial Day here in TN, but the Browns could not be held down or inside.  We hit the road bound for Lebanon this morning to check out where Josh's new job is located (more on that later) and to take in a day at a new (to us) pool and recreation area.  We had such a great time and cannot believe we didn't know about this place the past two summers we've been here.  And bonus, we ALL learned how to NOT squawk when a giant beady-eyed 13-yr-insect phenom landed and/or crawled on us.  These cicadas have been a real adventure!  Anyway, if you need us at anytime this summer, you can expect to track us down at Don Fox Park. :)

Yeah, you'd have been miserable, girl. They were all over, in and out of the water. Noah and Anna went around scooping them from the pool with cups and throwing them back in the grass. Every half hour the lifeguard went around with his net to gather the drowned ones.

Still, it was pretty tolerable. I know you can't fathom how, though. :) They really do just land and wait to be batted off.

On the way home, we heard one in the back of the Acadia. I had to pull over to catch him and when I did, it literally started scream-chirping. Now THAT was creepy! Ha!

o.m.g. I'm so jealous of those super fun places you find to go up there! How in the world do they call WR one of the top ten best cities to raise kids when places like Gallatin (ie Nashville) have so much fun things to offer and do? I'm a little jealous! :)

You probably have places to go you don't even know about. Join an active moms group and find out. :) That is where i hear of all the good stuff to see and do in our area. Moms just know!

That place looks fantastic! You all definitely make living in Tenn look like so much fun!

I haven't seen any of those cicadas in our parts of VA...but you can keep them.

I love the last photo of you and Anna...frame it!
