Willy Wonka!

After reading aloud Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to the kids and watching both movie adaptations, the kiddos were all about getting to see a live performance of the musical, Willy Wonka, that our local performing arts center just happened to be presenting.  What a treat!

We had killer seats, front and center along with some friends of ours.  Noah enjoyed a lollipop and some of my coke and Anna enjoyed some glow-in-the-dark cotton candy gifted to her by a nice guy from out of nowhere during intermission ... just because she was so stinkin' cute, I assume?  I grinned through the entire production, it was done so well.

We have all the songs stuck in our heads now and ongoing jokes and quotes from the play, too.  We also have these fun photo ops we stopped for on our way out.

Charlie Bucket.

The Oompah Loompahs.

Willy Wonka!

And we ought to have a pic of the kid who played Augustus Gloop after all the times we have seen him around town this past week.  Ha!  Anyway, in the end, it was a total win!  Anna would like to know how she can become an actress now and Noah says he loved the play more than the book and both movies. :)
