Last Couple Weeks of Summer

The last week of July and the first week of August found us cramming in the last of our summer break ... starting with Nashville Shores for Noah with some buds from church.

Lasa went to a Meet the Teacher at her new school, where she turned on total shyness.

Saturday morning pancakes with Daddy complete with fresh garden goodies for smoothies.

Noah and Anna attended their CHET orientation with me at the new building we are moving to and we squared away a handful of back-to-school supplies and such.  Exciting!

We had a bunch of homeschool buddies over to swim and Lego and bunny and badminton and swing and hottub and popsicle, but alas I stopped to take not a single pic of the crew.  Always the best gabbing when I am with Adrian, Becky, and Amy! I just forget entirely.  Also related, Noah has a swimmer's ear infection.

Also annoying, Anna broke part of her permanent retainer, so there was that to handle.  Speaking of Anna, she is teaching herself to french braid.  I am so impressed!

We met up for lunch at CFA with some other regulars of ours, Nena and Rachel and their kiddos who aren't in public school.  Again, no pic.  What is wrong with me????

Speaking of no pics, Josh and I just passed our 17th anniversary and there are no pics to show for it because we did nothing.  Don't ask. 😐

I have signed us up for our first field trips of the school year and I have at least gotten out our school books for next week.  And speaking of planning, we are thinking about taking a cruise next year instead of a beach trip!  Eek!

We started taking in the original Batman movies (from the 90s?) with the big kids, which is fun, but they are terrificly BAD in terms of effects and picture and script - ha!  It's like we grew up in the dark ages of entertainment.  Yikes.

We started bonding the baby bunnies to the rest of the bigs and it's going smoother than it did when we introduced Valley and Shade to Jenny. So we are thankful for that!

No bonding in this pic - I just think it's funny.  This is Valley's claimed spot, headfirst into the fan every day. She's a diva.

Noah's new favorite.  Lucy lets him give her all the kisses right in her face and she sits still in his lap the best of all.

I listed and sold a ton of Lasa's last fall/winter stuff at lightening speed which really gets me pumped for back-to-school shopping - having a bunch of cash in hand, ready to roll!

And we harvested a messload of elderberries. This should be enough to cover our whole winter in elderberry syrup for cold/germ prevention. I popped them all in the freezer in bags for now.
