Back to School 2019

Sumner County has been back in action for a full week before this week, but we were only just warming up to the idea.  We took Monday to be total sloths at home and then took Tuesday to ease into some school thoughts by going to Adventure Science Center.  Our fave feature this trip was taking in a show at the planetarium on Stars, which was a perfect precursor to our Astronomy studies coming up this year.  It was so interesting and so cool! Lasa was so spooked by the visual effects - she kept jumping up and looking around to make sure we weren't actually moving like she felt like we were.  Ha!  She was so funny too when she blurted out at one point, incredulous, "Wait!! Stars can DIE?"

This thermal imaging station proves that I am the "coolest" one of our bunch.  😆

Anna at the age progression thingie ... she is not happy about the projection.  Ha!!  I assured her it would work out better than it says.

Wednesday was Lasa's first day of Pre-K and she was over-the-moon excited for it!  She was also off-the-charts cute as a button!  This was technically her phase-in day and the full class came the next day for the first, first, first day of school, but whatever.  First for Lasa!

Since I was up at the crack of dawn anyway to do her hair, we went ahead and got into our own back-to-school routines as well.  Anna in 5th, though doing Noah's middle school work along with him.  She's awesome.

Noah taking on his 7th grade year and looking the part and getting so sharp in his work.  He is awesome.

I surprised the kiddos with first day goodies before we headed out for our traditional first day breakfast.  We hit up Music City Diner this time and loved it.

Josh sent pics from his commute to work/school with Lasa ... featuring a pillow I threw away and they apparently dug back out and rehomed in Josh's car. Sigh.

Finding her cubbie at school.  She is nervous and I know it because she is grabbing her tag in the back of her dress to rub.  My sweet baby.

Josh called in a favor and had the principal stop by her room to send a pic of our girl later in the day.  We were so glad to see her nerves had worn off easy.

Other fun pics her teacher posted on the Class Dojo app, which I love!

Zonked out on the way home, bless it.

Great first days back at it, all around!
