Metro Nashville Mounted Patrol

Yesterday's field trip with Nashville Homeschool Calendar found us at Metro Nashville's Mounted Patrol training grounds and stables over at Ellington Agricultural Center.  It was such an interesting talk and demonstration.  The officers were so great to learn from - welcoming, patient, friendly, informative!  Noah asked the best question of the day - how they arrest someone and what they do with them once arrested. We learned so many cool things.  Did you know police horses are considered officers too?  And that they have retirement benefits and such?

Afterward, we made a day of it in Nashville - following up with lunch out, McKay's Used Book Store, and then TSU for Noah's language therapy.

Josh has taken this week off, so we have enjoyed stuff around town with him.  We hit up a new park in our area Monday - Mary's Magical Place - and tomorrow we will hit up a pumpkin patch ... even though it still is hot as summer. 😏  Gotta get while the gettin's good with Josh home and available!
