Anna's Room Redo Reveal

So, for the fun of it, I looked up this post documenting the stages of Anna's room since we moved here in 2008.  You can see that here.  Most recently, Anna's room almost looked like this ...

In truth, her room had actually been entirely rearranged since this 2015 pic ... with her bed moved to the left wall, some corner shelves put where the bed was for her American Girl stuff, and a sewing machine table put in on the wall to the right of the door where the pic was taken from.  Alas, we didn't think to take a pic of it.  Boo!  But you can hopefully get an idea of what WAS UP.

At the end of May, we moved things out to bring in new-to-her-room shelves and paint them.  Something new was COMING UP.

Memorial Day weekend, Josh primed the room.  Three coats later, he started in with her new paint color.  Have I ever told you what a whiz he is at trim and smaller details?  He has such a steady hand and such patience!

Anna helped paint one wall.  One wall and she had had enough experience. :}

Josh finished the room so nicely!  It took two and smidge coats of this paint to get the job done.

It was fun to see the new shelves (taken from Josh's office and Noah's room) in place with their bright white finished looks!

Next came the second color Anna picked - purple.

Then came flower burst stencil touches to match the pattern on her bedspread.

Finally, one-of-a-kind Anna-made art pieces to pull it all together.  This project about drove Anna and me over the edge.  Me, because it's hard to let go control when paint is involved.  Anna, because I was stressing her out.  We got through it together.  Ha!

Finally, it was finished product picture time!

Anna has had a beautiful white dresser in her closet for awhile.  We decided it was too pretty to keep hidden in a closet so we passed it to Lasa for her upcoming room redo and put Lasa's dresser in Anna's closet instead.  It fit even better actually, leaving her a little more room on the sides.

Since her room redo, I often can't find her when I need her.  She has usually disappeared to her room to read or play with her dolls.  She is drawn to her pretty new space a lot more than before.  I think she enjoys it all clutter free.  It feels bigger now!

I love that she loves her updated space!  I love it, too!
