NC Trip: Other Extras

In between waterfalls and river rock climbing, we  played Minecraft, watched movies, I did the journaling I already posted, we wrangled Lasa in the new space, wandered the property at our Browns' Branch cottage retreat, visited downtown Franklin to windowshop, played at a greenway and playground (and also found some wild blackberries along the way), drove around Highlands just a smidge (Lasa was not keen on all the driving - pressure in her ears maybe?), did a little gem mining, took a turn on a small suspension bridge, and we even were threatened with arrest if we didn't get off some property we didn't know was so off limits - true story!  We did some river rock collecting. Oh, and Anna lost another tooth while there!  We came home one night early - on the 4th - so it was fun to watch for fireworks across the night sky on the way home.  Not fun was Lasa fussing for hours because she couldn't sleep like she wanted to in her carseat - oh the drama!

Restful bliss.

I would have loved to hear the interaction with the threat of arrest. You know, since y'all look like such a threatening bunch.

I will have to have Josh recount the dialogue. He was the one who approached the man in the truck who was honking at us. Suffice to say, he was abrupt, rude, and not swayed by Josh's compliance. He said he'd give us ten minutes to get off his property before he had us arrested. Sheesh! I was rattled all evening by that - by his rudeness, not his flashy threat. I keep telling Josh NO ONE was gonna actually ARREST us. If he HAD called the cops, they would simply tell us to leave. But nothing was needed in the way of arrest. Good grief. Lesson learned! If you ever go to John/Carol's, do NOT pull into the open lot directly across the road from the end of Walnut Creek Dr. Ha!
