I have made it no secret that I am out of oomph this December and I know not what is wrong with me. Luckily, the days don't wait for my mood to shift and with the help of my people I am finding sweet simple holiday cheer more and more every day. Red bows and green wreaths, for starters!
The kiddos were chomping at the bit to decorate the tree over Thanksgiving. This year, I let them decorate it almost all themselves. That's a big deal in Kimmieland. There was only one ornament casualty.
I have pared down our holiday decor to mostly just this stuff.
Lasa digs the trains under the tree.
So do all the kiddos in our Community Group. :} Like moths to a flame!
I got to hang out with some moms from our homeschool group last week at an Ornament Swap. The break from being home was much needed and much appreciated!
Noah and Anna continue to ask pointed questions about the truth or not-so-truth of Santa.
Just a quiet moment by the tree. Not counting the sweet baby squealing.
As we countdown to Christmas, my people and I also countdown to the new Star Wars movie coming out. We have a Lego Star Wars Advent calendar to distract us during the wait. See there, also, Noah's latest Christmas wish - a nutcracker. We hunted for just the right one and the boy bought this one with his own money. He was inspired to have one after watching Anna's Barbie Nutcracker movie. :}
Another year, another Jesse Tree Advent together. This year we are doing an Action Bible version, which is a favorite Bible of the kids'.
Today we skipped over to Hendersonville to take in their Christmas Parade. This is our eighth holiday season in the H'ville area and yet this is the first time we have made it to theirs. Usually we just do Gallatin's. Or none. Or sometimes Disney! Ha!
We were lucky enough to run into a couple friends right where we camped out, too. My sweet Susie and her Mika and some homeschool buds, Samantha and her crew, Daniel, Hayden, and Christian.
That is a clown next to my Noah ... for whom Noah would not make eye contact. Too funny!
Anna was boogie'n all over to the drumline beats.
Noah actually caught that ball that you see up in the air tossed down from the sleigh!
This Jack Sparrow was hilarious.
I love this shot. The sun, the boys, the hats, the band, the trees, the shadows, the angle. Love.
And back at home. Our house icicle lights have begun to die on us and we haven't the moolah to buy more. So a simple string of lights on the door will have to do.
And I think it does!
