Oh, August!

Oh, August!  You are a hard month - still so summery and steamy, but fall routines pick up hot and heavy - so I am glad to report we survived you well this year!  Back to school blues were mild, new school for Lasa went so smoothly, I met my walking goal of 100 miles finally (took 4+ months),  Noah is now dRiViNg, I took a much-anticipated trip with my high school besties, we survived another couple of us on quarantine (Lasa for exposure at school and Noah for very Covid-ish symptoms - maybe he caught the variant this time?), Anna got both her Covid vaccine doses without incident, hockey is back underway for the Noah, and I started back working in the nursery at church as well as everyone returning to a Sunday School spot after 18 months without.  Wow!  Oh yeah - I started my little side teaching gig at Legacy Enrichment on Thursdays and that has gone so well, too!  Take that, August!

Living out in the country, we just burn all our cardboard boxes.  We have half as much trash as before now!

Was fun to sneak off to a matinee movie that first Friday Lasa was back in school. Disney's Jungle Cruise was really enjoyable!

Anna's sunflowers are popping.

All the pretty tomatoes.  We didn't have much all summer and we battled pests. Hopeful for more time and a better location for them next year.

Pumpkins coming in, too!

Our one and only harvest of corn.  Corn struggled where it got planted.  Lesson learned. They will try a new spot next summer, too.

Sunsets on the front porch, nice and quiet after Lasa goes to bed.  Ha!

What in the actual world is happening?!? This baby got his driver's permit.  Passed that test on the first try.  Jusssssst barely, but it still counts!  Now we are logging all the driving hours.  They go best with Josh when I am not fretting in the back seat.

A "frog" on the porch that Lasa saw through the window.  Was the coolest guy to watch and chase around. So beautiful!

Noah and Anna in some pics from their Biology 1 course.  They are also taking English 1 at Legacy as well as an after school Art class.  And a study hall!

Scoping out the new backyard attached to the bunny bin.

Anna decided to read all the Harry Potty books after all these years.  She is flying through them.

A weekend away with Jenn, Laura, and Heather in the cutest little town in Maryland was such a gift to my soul. Flying again after so many years ... eek!  Amazing views though!

A whole year of Bunco wrapped up and I brought home another $60 this session.  Kimmie likes!

Anna took this shot of Jenny and I adore it.  Also, adorable tiny owls she spotted one night right outside our back porch. Country living for the win!
