When Anna Turned 11

My Annalove turned the page on another year last week, graduating to a big bad 11 years old which she is proud to point out is symmetrical like the letters in her name.  HA!  This might just turn out to be a magical year for her as a result?  Maybe!  Changes are a afoot, my friends, in these preteen years.  It's spooky.  Things are getting real.  But first, a couple precious flashback pics before the back porch birthday pic.

We marked the birthday occasion by taking the day off school except for a fun field trip to Soar Adventure Tower in Nashville that morning, doing presents and cupcakes in the afternoon with Daddy and Lasa coming home a smidge early from work, and then off Daddy and daughter went to a Preds game that night, courtesy of a couple more $10 tickets Josh scored.

Hooting and hollarin' for another Preds win! Both had sore throats afterwards.

As well, Anna came home having consumed her weight in coke and popcorn and ended up in panicky tears well after midnight, unable to sleep still, which was quite a stressor because she had a freakishly full next day and early morning hot on her heels.   Price you pay for partying hard on a school night, birthday girl.  HA!

This year's birthday gifts made her day - a flexible neck hug book light for reading in bed, two Kavu bags (one from Memaw), a mannequin head for doing hair styles on, a girl's body book 😳,  a tumbling mat, a bracelet that stylishly holds your ponytail holder when not in use, a toiletry bag, her very own laundry hamper, and then some surprise goodies from her girlfriends at a special lunch out on Sunday at The Melting Pot, which was quite an experience for all.

This time last year-ish, Anna and I began praying for the Lord to provide some solid girl friendships in Anna's life.  It looked like the social cards were stacked against her schedule-wise and Community group-wise and just general logistical luck-of-the-draw-wise.  But you know the Lord - good and perfect gift giver.  It is amazing in our eyes how he has grown this little group of girlfriends together and we are ever, ever so humbled and thankful for the memories they have made this year and have ahead of them as they enter youth group together next year.  Thank you, Lord!

Happy Birthday, Anna of the Symmetrical 11 years!  You are pretty great and so loved.  Here's hoping I get around to cranking out a birthday letter this year to chat that stuff up in a little more detail. ;)  You'll have to get in line, though, as I still owe Noah one from May.  HA!! Birthday love to you, just the same.  ELEVEN looks so good on you.
