Word Drop

Been gathering these for quite awhile now and it's still not a hefty list.  Been reading a bunch this year, but coming across less new-to-me words for some reason.  Faves in bold.
  • hectoring - talking in a bullying way
  • reify - making (something abstract) more concrete or real
  • ossified - cease developing; be stagnant or rigid
  • epicene - of indeterminate gender
  • irenic - aiming or aimed at peace
  • oneiric - related to dreams or dreaming
  • relict - a thing which has survived from an earlier period/primitive form
  • natter -  talk casually, especially about unimportant matters; chatter
  • wangle - manage to obtain by persuading/cleverly manipulating someone
  • bagatelle - a thing of very little importance; very easy task
  • polyglot - a person who knows/uses several languages
  • luminary - a person who influences or inspires others
  • magisterial - having or showing great authority
  • importunate - persistant, especially to the point of annoyance or intrusion
  • coeval - having the same age or date of origin, contemporary
  • lapidary - relating to stone/gems and the work involved in engraving, cutting, polishing
  • jingoistic - characterized by extreme patriotism, especially in form of aggressive/warlike foreign policy
