Friday was Adoption Day! We hired a friend from church to come take pics and we don't have those back yet, but I wanted to go ahead and plop down here all these sweet images I have pored over since Friday that we happened to take ourselves on our phones. Glad for these to tide me over til I see Cayte's.
The outfit for the big day.
So true of the big day. This verse I came upon in my reading right before TPR and I knew it was from the Lord assuring me He had it all well in hand. And then, I kid you not, I came back upon it in the order of my rereading Psalms this month again the night before Adoption Day. I just know it was for me to take in again from the Lord. These two significant days are days the Lord made ... and all the hard ones before and inbetween, yes ... but oh, how I testify to this being true of Adoption Day finally. Praising Him!
On our way around the courthouse bright and early Friday morning. Like, 7:30 am. Ouch! But bring it on!
I am IN LOVE with this pic.
And this one.
Jennifer Williams, our atty, before court. I love this woman!! We have a better pic with her on Cayte's reel. John and Carol being in town when we got this done was such a sweet, sweet detail to my heart. Emily could not quite make the morning road trip for an 8:00 am hearing the day after they got home from another out-of-town trip.
Getting our ducks in a row while we wait for the judge to come in. So thankful Cayte had a letterboard for the Adoption Day sign I wanted to have. Saved me from having to craft a sign of my own. HA!
After the crazy fast blip of 10 minutes in front of the the judge, he invited us up for pics and personal hellos. He was such a sweet man. The comments he offered to another family adopting that morning right before us were such wise, gut honest, but kind encouragements to them in the midst of tears they shed as their adoption was paired with a heartbreak as well. Thankful for good judges.
Can't wait to see how this sign worked out in pics.
Jennifer had her act together and got us the decree immediately signed and stamped and entered before we left the courthouse. Have I mentioned how much I love her? No agonizing 2.5 mos waiting on this to be typed up and filed to be official like it went with the TPR. Thank you, Lord! Also, see there that beautiful new name - Lasa Naomi Brown.
Back at home, in the post adoption ceremony afterglow. I wanted to get a cutie pie pic in her outfit to post, but all I got were these. She was too silly and giddy about her special day and the cupcakes she was about to eat and eat and eat.
My precious friend Becky insisted on dropping us by some sweets she whipped up for us to celebrate with. Literal icing on the cake of a good, good day.
It has been a full weekend since the adoption and I still stare into space and moon over pics letting it all sink in. I can't believe it's done. She's ours officially. Finally Family. Thank you, Lord.
Hoping to be back this week with the better pics. Fingers crossed!

Happy Heart Sigh. So happy for the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. So thankful for all the Lasa-filled days that the Lord has made! Lots of love to you all!
Thank you so much for your faithful cheering us on, Elizabeth!!
Seeing these makes me so happy! Lasa is a Brown! And those pictures at the end...she is sitting on the front mat that says "home"! She is home forever! So thankful!
