Time for Moving On

It's time.  Josh and I both realized it last week as we round out a third month this week where Angelique has been entirely absent.  After months of absence before that.  We thought we would wait for her to come around again and to feel her out about how to proceed.  And now we see that she doesn't need that from us.  And if I am being honest, I am not concerned anymore about her possibly getting upset.  We are ready to move on and pursue making Lasa our daughter.  It's just time.  Even more so because we know all the steps needed before that can be done will take ... time.

Today we contacted Lasa's lawyer to get the ball rolling on filing a petition to terminate Angelique's parental rights.  Not to take aim at Angelique or to cut her out, but to be able to adopt Lasa in the end.  It can't happen until this legality is squared away.  It's a serious and sad thing to have to do, but it's time and we believe it to be right.  We love this child and the Lord has ordained that she will stay here.  And her momma doesn't seem to have any response or comment on that from all we can tell. So, we will take over from here and follow down the road the Lord has brought us to.  Adoption!

Here's to making this precious one a Brown at the end of this road!

I wonder if my thighs will look as cute in gold tights as hers do?

Praying this next step is a smoothe transition.

Seriously! I am in love with the gold pants ... because I could never rock gold pants the way SassyPants does. :} Living vicariously.
