School Stuff

This week was finally go-time for our CHET school year.  I am not a fan of navigating morning traffic, but we'll figure it out on Tuesdays for Noah and Thursdays for Anna.  They have FULL schedules this year and actual homework 😬 ...

Lasa's class took a field trip to the local library and Don Fox Park this week and Lasa's daddy was one of the few parents already fingerprinted and therefore approved to attend as a chaperone.  Riding a real-live school bus ROCKED LASA'S WORLD.  She was busting through the door after school to tell us about it.

How cute are two little girlfriends with the same smile??  Way cute.

Also?  Share and Tell sweetness her teacher posted on the Class Dojo app...

We have always taken plenty of breaks during our school days ... we take even more when there are precious plushy bunnies to cuddle.  They soften the blow of a hard math lesson ...

And finally, I guess when your daddy is such a fave at work, you get special privileges. Today that meant a photo op with Daddy's boss, the ... ahem ... Superintendant of Lebanon Special School District, Scott Benson.

Weekend Amusements

I went for the second of two walks this week in an effort to work walking back into my life.  My life needs it.  Anna is on board to go with, so that's fun.

We drove a drive to scope out where two of our baby bunnies landed and it was so nice out that we went the whole way with the windows open and blowing like crazy.  Lasa was DELIGHTED.

So many great clouds overhead that drive.

We did a first-time-everrrrrr thing - flat ironing the baby's hair.  She was delighted, Anna was delighted.  It was delightful.  It lasted less than a day, however, with all the handling that came with it.  And the humidity. Ha!  Oh well.

Virtual Reality stuffs were a fun distraction one boring evening.

At the park later that evening.  Tennis, walk, chalk, playground, squeaky glider swing.

And Sunday night, Anna's dearheart friends had all us families gather for their performance of a couple skits from Little House on the Prairie.  Over the course of August, they wrote the scripts, rehearsed together, did the set and costuming, wrote tickets, and all!  Afterward, we all enjoyed BBQ for dinner together with the heartiest laughs and most heartfelt chats.

Thankful for our Redeemer family.  Like, every single week, this sentiment strikes me.
Good, simple weekend!

B is for ...

BUSTED.  As in, our lawnmower of the last 10 years is busted.  Finally died.  Downgrading to a pushmower now, because Josh wants the space back in his workshop.

BUDDIES.  Buddies the kiddos have gathered with of late.

BONUS B points for this being at a BASEBALL game.

 BUBBLES.

BIRDHOUSE made by Lasa with Josh.

BUNNIES.  And BONDING sessions with the BABIES.  That are going BEAUTIFULLY.

BACKYARD BLOOMS.

Back in the Pool

I know it's back-to-school season, but it's such a wonky month because it feels more summery than not.  It's stinking hot!  So that means we are also full on back-in-the-pool, too!

We got a kick out of catching action jumping shots.

Back to School 2019

Sumner County has been back in action for a full week before this week, but we were only just warming up to the idea.  We took Monday to be total sloths at home and then took Tuesday to ease into some school thoughts by going to Adventure Science Center.  Our fave feature this trip was taking in a show at the planetarium on Stars, which was a perfect precursor to our Astronomy studies coming up this year.  It was so interesting and so cool! Lasa was so spooked by the visual effects - she kept jumping up and looking around to make sure we weren't actually moving like she felt like we were.  Ha!  She was so funny too when she blurted out at one point, incredulous, "Wait!! Stars can DIE?"

This thermal imaging station proves that I am the "coolest" one of our bunch.  😆

Anna at the age progression thingie ... she is not happy about the projection.  Ha!!  I assured her it would work out better than it says.

Wednesday was Lasa's first day of Pre-K and she was over-the-moon excited for it!  She was also off-the-charts cute as a button!  This was technically her phase-in day and the full class came the next day for the first, first, first day of school, but whatever.  First for Lasa!

Since I was up at the crack of dawn anyway to do her hair, we went ahead and got into our own back-to-school routines as well.  Anna in 5th, though doing Noah's middle school work along with him.  She's awesome.

Noah taking on his 7th grade year and looking the part and getting so sharp in his work.  He is awesome.

I surprised the kiddos with first day goodies before we headed out for our traditional first day breakfast.  We hit up Music City Diner this time and loved it.

Josh sent pics from his commute to work/school with Lasa ... featuring a pillow I threw away and they apparently dug back out and rehomed in Josh's car. Sigh.

Finding her cubbie at school.  She is nervous and I know it because she is grabbing her tag in the back of her dress to rub.  My sweet baby.

Josh called in a favor and had the principal stop by her room to send a pic of our girl later in the day.  We were so glad to see her nerves had worn off easy.

Other fun pics her teacher posted on the Class Dojo app, which I love!

Zonked out on the way home, bless it.

Great first days back at it, all around!
