For the last three months, we have been muddling our way through ear issues and infectious pus forming in Lasa's ears. Today, at her follow up appt with the new ENT, she got the go ahead to return to life as usual again. They are clear of gunk (amazing) and we are simply to keep up her trio of allergy meds going forward. We are also gonna continue on with our own project of no milk in her life. Lasa girl can take in her first swim of the summer now - hooray! tomorrow! - and we don't even HAVE to do ear plugs when swimming, though we can if we prefer in that other ear that still has the tube in it. We may or may not, but will likely still stick with her Ear Band-It straps just for good measure.
Surgery may or may not still be needed ahead, says the ENT. We will see what comes next, if anything. He said her ear infection life might not be outgrown til the age of 5. Please, Lord, let that not be the case. Sooooo, how's that for who knows what to tell ourselves? Still not sure if this whole follow-up is a win or not. But we'll take it on the basis of sheer exhaustion.
At any rate, what drama began again back in March with strep, then cold, then ear infection, then tube coming out, then infectious pus for monthsssssssssss, has now finally given up and left the building. We are all clear in the ears.
For now. 😳😬
Silly faces from the appt, just because...
