We are, ohhhhh, 2+ months overdue in making good on Anna's Birthday First experience gift. She has been more than gracious while she waited for the schedule to allow for a special day. Her original request was to hike to the bottom of a waterfall. But alas, the one we were going to get to was closed off still from all the summer flooding this year. Crazy! So Anna offered up a second option - her first pedicure! It was just a bonus that that outing was far closer to home and much less time commitment. :) Pedicure, it was!
As soon as Josh and Noah got home from their team's robotics competition on Saturday,
Anna and I scooted out the door for her very special pampering appointment at Giggles Salon. Ms. Morgan greeted her at the door and wisked her away to pick out her polish color. Anna, always with a mind of her own, chose two colors AND a glitter topcoat. :}
Next up, a soak in the footbath.
Then it was cuticle work and nail cutting. We got our money's worth with this step alone. Anna's toenails were frighteningly long.

Then it was foot massage time ...
... with birthday cake sugar scrub and, in case you can't tell,
it tickled a bunch.
it tickled a bunch.
Like, really tickled.
Then it was polish time!
Anna enjoyed the chit chat with Ms. Morgan and the several different movies playing around the room. She kicked back and relaxed like a pro.
And when all was said and done, she had a precious pedicure to show for her Birthday First! She also had a lot of water on the floor to show for her splashing during the sugar scrub portion of the evening I mentioned earlier. :}
Ms. Morgan even spritzed Anna's head with watermelon spray and sent the belated birthday girl out the door with a balloon on a stick and a wind-up toy from the prize bucket.
It was funny to watch Anna carefully waddle through Publix afterwards in order to protect her still slightly wet toes. So enamored was she with her finished feet that she kept them OUT of the bathtub at bathtime. There's a visual. But if anyone can pull it off, it's our Anna. <3>3>
