Recipe: Fruit Smoothie

I realize a smoothie is simple enough that it probably doesn't actually NEED a recipe.  But for me, it does.  My brain just does need the clear direction.   This was too yummy.  Just ask Anna.  It was her first ever "smoovie" and she said I made the best smoovies ever.  So there. ;)

Strawberry-Orange Smoothie
(makes 4 servings, 1 cup each)
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen whole strawberries
  • 1 pkg. (3.4 oz.) Jello-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding
Blend ingredients in blender until smooth.  Serve immediately.

Anna and I added whipped cream and ate it with spoons because it was thick enough, but the recipe also suggested adding a bit of club soda for a little fizz.  I imagine that would make it more liquidy for straw-style consumption.  Will try that way, too.

We picked up the ingredients for this tonight. Looking forward to making it for breakfast with one of Beka's friends this weekend.

Mmmmm. I'm looking forward to the other half of the ingredients I saved, too. :)

I'm with you. I need a recipe when I throw together smoothies too. We make a similar one...1 banana, 1 cup of vanilla low fat yogurt, 1/2 Cup OJ and a cup of frozen strawberries. I double it for the whole family to enjoy. We love it and will have to try your variety sometime.
