He doesn't even know that I am trying to train his little brain and muscles into holding that pencil my way -ahem- the RIGHT way.
In other fine motor skill news, I purchased a new pencil grip online and can't wait to give that a try with Noah. I also contacted an occupational therapist just to see what support is out there in case his fine motor skill delay presents any problems for him when school starts. There is a program called Handy Writers that I think will be right up Noah's alley. It's designed for preschool/kindergarten age kiddos.

I didn't realize his fine motor skills were that bad off...who told you it was a problem?
Oh, it didn't take much more than simple observation this entire last year to notice. He was nowhere near on par for preschool writing, cutting, coloring, tracing, copying, like all his classmates were. When their work would be displayed on the wall, the difference was big. Big. It's been on our radar for awhile now...
I love your "radar"- Noah will be a genius when you get finished with him. Seriously, I am so proud of how you and Matthew parent my grandchildren. I was never as "with it" as you are. Well, we had no internet, we lived 30 miles from the nearest city, our main contact was
church but hey, I think they all turned out well and I am proud of all of my boys (big, little, and of course, our new teenager).
