Wintry Weekend

I can't say I remember ever seeing snow before Christmas, so this day is one for the memory books for me.  We woke up to snow falling dreamily from the skies.  We hurried outside to catch some snowflakes

and eat them.

Since the snow didn't ever come close to sticking, Josh and the kids had to settle for making a play-dough snowman instead.  It's a pity I didn't snap a picture of him.  I think at last tally, that bad boy had about 12 arms.

In other wintry weekend news, the Brown family took in Chad's Winter Wonderland lights display

and made wreaths using our fine motor skills that mommy is so attuned to.

Sadly, Mommy was more excited about this project than the kids were and they got no farther than this

and this.

I had my first Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate of the season and Anna, as well, had her first hot chocolate ever.

It was met with much excitement as she and Noah danced around singing "hot, hot, hot, hot chockit (chocolate)" from Polar Express, which by the way, Josh watched in its entirety with them this afternoon.  So far, we've watched it twice this season.

Noah, having had two hot chocolates of his own last week, was an old pro at guzzling and dove right in.

Josh swallowed his fear of heights and put up our first ever Christmas lights on the house.

By the time the weekend was over, snow still flurrying around outside, Anna's adorable t-shirt summed us all up well.

The icing on our snowy cake this weekend was hanging out with friends to watch Auburn's win at the SEC championship game and the excitement of knowing they've secured their spot in the National Championship next month.  War Eagle!

Uncle Johnmark would have been right there watching Polar Express with them - it is his hands down favorite and even took last year's children's sermon from it.

Your lights are so fun! I think outside Christmas lights are one of my favorite decorations.

And that Christmas wreath craft just makes this preschool teacher's heart happy. Too bad it's such a cute fun idea and kiddos never seem to enjoy it as much as we want them to. Or at least that was always my experience. ;)

I think I'm totally turning Mid-Georgian...because I so don't wish it was cold enough to snow here....I appreciate the heat break with a little cool weather, but I was about to DIE in those 30 degrees walking to my car last night.....but it IS pretty...we'll have to come visit you so we can let the girls enjoy it again! :) And then come back home and throw our jackets in teh closet for another 9 months :)
