The trees out back are finally bare.
The boy's back on treatments so he can breathe air.
The mantle's updated for the next holiday.
The tree's all aglow in a Christmasy way.
The cards are printed, stamped, and addressed.
Our Christmas books are already a mess.
We're ready to start our first Jesse tree.
We've cued up a movie of the Nativity.
Our homemade wreath is up on the door.
And we've two, count them two, Lionel trains on the floor.
The shopping's all done and hidden away.
Bring on December! Bring on Christmas Day!

Ha! I'm pretty sure this is going to be my favorite Christmas post this year. So fun!
1. We have the same Willow Tree nativity... minus the wise men which I'm pretty sure I'm getting this year for Christmas and the stable which I passed on to my sister when we moved to Prague.
2. I'm SO excited about your Jesse Tree and can't wait to see how that unfolds for you!
3. You're shopping is DONE?!? Wow! I'm impressed.
That Nativity would look better if it wasn't all crammed on top of a rather small curio, but at least we get to leave it up all year. I love, love, love how it fits normal decor - not just seasonal looks. And by the way, if I had to go back, I think I would have just gotten the Joseph, Mary, and baby pieces, so I say what you already have has the "less is more" appeal. :)
We scaled back the shopping big time this year. And we got the kids a sizable surprise, so we only grabbed a few small things to open Christmas morning in FL. It is so freeing to not have alot of shopping quotas to meet!
Ode to Seuss?
Hats off to you for having the house decorated, cards ready to go, and the shopping done. Have not even started yet. Wait, I just completed my one and only Cyber Monday purchase and got Beka the coat she wanted from Macy's for more than 1/2 off. We have a teeny tiny budget for Christmas and so we're having to be creative and careful in our purchases. I need some thoughts on in-law gifts if you have any and want to email them to me.
Huh - I guess it did come off sort of Suessical didn't it? It's my inner poet.
Score! on that jacket. I love a good deal so much that just hearing about yours is just as enjoyable.
This makes me smile. We do a Jessie Tree too.
I'm so jealous that you're done shopping. I'm done with the kids and that's all. You are such an efficient little lady.
Love the mantle! I wish I had one.
Love that movie! A must watch each year.
You should do the elf on the shelf. Jacob is crazy about "Buddy" the elf is watching his every move and reporting to Santa about his good and bad behavior. Buddy moves somewhere new each night.
I want to say you (and maybe Elizabeth, too) were the one who first put the Jesse tree bug in my ear last year. I meant it when I said I was totally digging that tradition.
Well, technically, I still have a teacher gift to buy. But I might end up making something instead, so then technically I WOULD be done shopping. Except for Josh. Technically.
I am too afraid of the kids thinking they only ever have to try hard to behave when an elf is on the shelf. I may facebook, but I will not, repeat will not! elf on the shelf. Famous last words right?
