Right on the heels of the custody finalization last week, we participated in our church's Parent-Child Dedication. The timing was pretty special.
There were five families with young ones being presented. First they have each family read a verse of our choosing that we pray over our child. We picked one I already had marked with all three kids' names in my bible.
Ephesians 1:17-19
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the perception of your mind may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength.
Then there was some direct and ceremonial questions/answers from pastor to the families where we answer We Will and then our church family responds also with We Will when asked if they will partner with and support us in the raising of said child in the instruction of the Lord. Then the families spread out around the room and everyone goes and stands with the families for specific prayer over the children.
I am sorry we never were in a place to do this before with baby Noah and baby Anna, though they were no less dedicated by us to the Lord, believeyoume! Anyway, it was particularly special to us to be able to do this for Lasa! Thankful.

LOve these pictures Just love.
I love the church having the parents lead in this.
I was quite a fan of that active role they give the families the first time we saw this done here, too. Glad for it!
