This year, Josh made the kids muck the guts out of the pumpkin they wanted to carve. Anna was all ick-faced over it, but participated (and whined and complained and fussed) for a few tries.
Noah was a much better sport. :}
Josh scraped it out when they were done.
Anna carved her design into one side - a witch on a broom in the moonlight.
Noah opted to paint with a stencil instead - Frankenstein.
Finished products...
Other final pumpkin products include both kiddos' pumpkin book reports they prepared for Anchored Enrichment. Noah did a book from the Stink series ... and did a really good job!
Anna did The Secret Garden and loved it! We are watching the movie of it today, in fact. Takes me back to my own childhood. I remember loving this movie!
And the other couple pumpkins we have on the porch. Anna's from a couple weeks ago and the pretty little plump green and orange one I picked from the patch.
It's time for Trick or Treating now! We have three Halloween events over the next three days if we can dodge the rain - a Jonah's Journey Fall Fest, Trick or Treating on the Square, and of course Trick or Treating old school style in the 'hood. Good times on the way!

I just reserved The Secret Garden for Brooklyn :)
Enjoy!! It was something else to hear Anna doing her oral report part to practice. It was all coming back to me then too - Mary, Dickin, Colin, the uncle, Ben Witherstaff/spoon I forget now.
