Believe it or not, we have come upon the teen chapter of our family's life with the arrival of Noah's birthday last week. THIRTEEN is in the house!!
May 2 was celebrated a number of ways. First, it was celebrated early in April when we went to the hockey game, Noah's main gift. Second, on Thursday, his actual birthday, it was celebrated with a few small presents and custom-ordered cookies and dinner/ dessert out and a little spending of birthday money at the Lego Store of course. Third, it was celebrated with a day off school on Friday, the day after. Fourth, it was celebrated with buddies coming over on Saturday to play hockey and dodgeball and foosball and to watch a Marvel movie with the birthday boy. Not a bad way to welcome 13!
Now that he's 13, we decided to let him watch some PG-13 movies we have held off on til now - namely, Marvel movies, which cover his "Birthday First" for this year. ;) What a fun new chunk of movies to add to his movie-loving collection. It's gonna be a superhero kind of summer as we play catch up!
Dinner at Chuy's and dessert at Rainforest Cafe.
Bunch of buddies to play hard with!
He also enjoyed texting Tania and Justin and getting to talk with them that night.
He feels all of 13 now. 12 was a hard year, so we are all looking forward to this new chapter for him! Hoping to be back to crank out a birthday letter as I always do. But gonna be honest - I am tired and this may be the first year I don't. Which I know I will regret one day! But there it is. Life! We shall see. ;)
Happy Birthday to my beautiful first born baby. You are my favorite boy in the whole world and you always will be. We love you to pieces, Noah Brown!
Seriously...how did that happen!? 13! It doesn't seem possible! Happy Birthday, Noah!
ReplyDeleteNo, it doesn't. And yet it does! So bizarre. Thank you!!
