September Stuff

We kicked off September with a long awaited endoscopy for this guy.  It went smoothly.  No serious issues were uncovered so he just soldiers on with some new prescription meds for his stomach for a few more months and daily miralax for his gut.

For Labor Day weekend, Emily and crew came to town again.

We did all the things and even grouped up real fast for a quick family pics session.  I am highly amused that I now have my Christmas cards already ordered, printed, and picked up.  Record time! ;)

The kiddos keep on with their school work at home and at Legacy...

A little creek play across from the end of our driveway.

Noah continues to rack up driving hours in the Kubota AND in the car.

We met our first rattlesnake on the property this month.  And our first coyote sighting!  And we have discovered a couple groundhogs that come up close quite often, too.  They are adorable and so fun to watch.  We have named one Grover.  They live in the big rocks behind our house.  Between these, the deer, and the 25 turkeys (yes - 25 including 12 babies) we have in the front and back yards almost daily, we could start our own nature show.  Ha!

Random real life Lasa pic.  Another day, another meltdown.  It's hard being 6.

We finally figured out how to get some free channels around here since cancelling cable months ago. A good old antenna.

Just a sweet view any given moment of the day ... bunny on my porch.

And this unoffical pet spider in our window.  She has laid THREE different giant egg sacs in her time here.  I didn't know they did it more than once!  (confession, we squashed them each time; she is lovely, but we don't want a million around)

I keep on walking and doing Faster Way fasting and macro tracking and even have gotten into a rhythm of HIIT worksouts twice a week.  Progress still seems slow for me still.  I don't know.  I will keep on though and see what more time does.  Sometimes, I have company along the workout way.

I always end up with company on the front porch too.

Adorable Lasa work.

Anna's latest puzzle, now mounted and on her wall.  So lovely.

Noah's hockey games started up this month.  His team is undefeated so far.  Noah is playing harder and more confidently since spring season, which is great and such a relief.  I was worried about him playing with the bigger kids in this 15-18 group.  But it's been ok.  I think the more mellow feel of fall hockey helps put him at ease.  And his teammates really do help and support him.

There is no designated goalie this season, so all the kiddos are taking a turn or two.  Noah just did his first turn.  It was a closer game than ever, but his team held on and won.  Phew!  I didn't want his team's first loss to be on his watch as goalie.  Ha!

Already blogged for this month is this lady's 13th birthday.

Another September, another much-needed and lovely night with Redeemer Women at our annual Fall Women's Gathering.  My heart was so full after spending time with these friends.

Annnd, I keep on with my little side teaching gig of one class at Legacy.  I finally remembered to snap a quick pic of my class, now up to 14 students.  Eek!  Here they are hard at work on an end-of novel-assessment.

This month we also had a last minute visit from my parents for an afternoon and that went smoothly.  Still taking baby steps there in that relationship.  The weather has been a dream this month, falling like perfection into fall temps without crazy jags back up into the 90s like other years.  A charmed first fall at 206 Dry Fork Creek Rd. for sure!  Puts us in the mood for October and the holidays.
