An Adoption ReConnect

In February we finally sat ourselves down and handwrote a snail mail letter to the only hope of an Angelique contact we had left, Rodney, her husband (whom we figured would be her ex by now, but who would still be in touch with her since they now share two kiddos).  We didn't even have a number for him anymore, so his address from one of Angelique's arrest records was our long shot hope! We asked Rodney to text Josh back with Angelique's new number if he had it.  Rodney did us one better - he called Josh right away and updated us that they weren't together anymore, that the kids are now 2 and 3, that Angelique now lives with her grandmother again in Gville, and that he would give her our contact info.  He even offered to get together for a playdate for Lasa with LaBella and DeAngelo!  Wasn't that so precious of him to say?  We said we'd love that and Lasa would really love that.

Later that day, he texted Josh Angelique's number.  And then Angelique herself texted us before we could text her.  She said she heard we contacted Rodney to find her and asked how we were.  Great day, indeed!!  I have attached screen shots of the following texts.  Lasa is thrilled!

It is SUCH a big deal to be back in contact at all.  I feared we wouldn't find her again and am so glad we tried before the time span became too great.  For the record, the last time Lasa saw Angelique, was Christmastime 2017 and she was 2.5.  The last time Josh and I saw her was in court for TPR in April 2018.  The last time we had text contact with her was March 2019 when she shared that she'd had the newest baby, a boy.  After that, it was only radio silence.  Hoping we can meet up here in April or May!  What a great surprise to hope for this again.
