It is mid-February in Nashville and yet the earth seems to think it's April. Anna is already needing her spring allergy meds. My friends' daffodils are already shooting up out of the ground and daring to bloom. Grass is turning greeeeeeeeen. We have been so robbed of a decent winter, it has been so ridiculously warm and spring like, this is going on in my backyard right now.
My friends, this should not be. It is MID-FEBRUARY.
Crazy Boone weather as well.
ReplyDeleteThey claim to have never had a winter this mild.
It hasn't been cold enough to kill all these germs.
Neighboring schools have closed.
Flu is everywhere.
I tested positive for it yesterday. I'm one miserable chick.
But I did sit outside some today and watched the robins in the backyard.
YESSSS! That's the other phenomenon taking place around here. FLU and strep are taking over the region. Multiple districts (including Josh's) were closed last week for it. Josh was tempted to skip church Sunday for fear one of us would catch it. It is EVERYWHERE. So sorry it claimed you. Flu about killed me the one time I had it a number of years back. The outside air will help. Deep breaths!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Boone, we just finished a six-week unit about your city's namesake, Daniel Boone. Our favorite unit yet!
Daniel Boone is a cool character study.
DeleteThere are lots of field trip opps in TN, KY, and NC to learn more.
