Treetop Adventure Park

For Noah's Birthday First experience this year, we went with an idea I came up with months ago.  An idea that Josh poo-poo'd and said Noah would be too scared to do and would not enjoy.  I sat on it awhile and waited til the season opened so Josh could scope it out himself to be sure.  That never happened, he settled for a phone call, and then let me have my way with this idea ... still convinced it was too risky. I soldiered on, just knowing a kids' ropes course adventure would be a winning idea!

Noah invited a handful of buddies to come check it out with him and, as always, ball season kept several of them from being free to attend.  That worked out for the best in the end because 4 boys (and a little sister) was just the right size of group for this activity.  Any more and half the group wouldn't have seen the other half at all anyway.

Jackson, Hayden, and Jonas met us at the house on Saturday bearing gifts that made Noah's day ... rocket launcher, boomerang, Kylo Ren light saber, and cash.

Cake was scarfed in record time and we headed south to Nashville for the real fun.  Harnesses were donned and a quick training course was demonstrated.

One last group photo before the crew took off.  High adventure was calling!

These two shots were on the little training course.

Then it was time to climb a bit higher.  Jonas, in the front of the pack, was off and gone waaaaay ahead of the other kiddos in no time.

Noah taking on some of the first bridges. How beautiful was the day?!

Anna lagged behind the boys, taking her time at all the bridges and stations.  She even got extra adventurous!

This bridge she did with no hands!

All the kids' favorite station was the big zipline at the end. I just love this shot with most of the kids at the platform, Noah getting his gear attached correctly, the guide watching down below.

This bridge with the swing was the hardest ... halfway through the kids had to pull themselves across along the wire while still sitting.

Noah fell off the swing while trying to reach.  He panicked about this at first before remembering that that is what the harness is for to begin with.  To catch you.

The guide had to climb up to help him across here.  In the meantime, Noah enjoyed the feel of just hanging out.

I like this shot because you see most of the kids (minus Jonas who was so far ahead, of course) all doing different bridges as they worked through the course.

The guide ended up letting us all do the course a bonus third time.  Much appreciated! I think that was the most fun turn for the kids of all.  Check out Noah no-handing it here!

It was a GREAT day and a PERFECT way for my big 10 year to celebrate growing up another year.

We enjoyed it so much, I am sure we'll go back again!
Happy Birthday again, Noah! Proud of you!

  1. That was a perfect first adventure for a brave boy beginning to navigate the often difficult and sometimes scary double-digit years.

    Proud of you, Noah!

I would have been to nervous to try.

  2. THANK you! I thought it suited perfectly too. I had to jump on Josh to make him stop projecting fear for the kid onto the kid. Sheesh! Momma knows.

  3. I agree with Amy. What a GREAT and unforgettable adventure for Noah and his pals!! I'm glad you pushed for it to happen. :-) Last fall our team did a getaway weekend and there was a ropes course like this (though twice as high I think) that Shannon and a few others did. I was bummed to miss out on it, but there was no way Rebeka was going up there and we didn't have time to do it twice. Oh well, maybe one day. I'm sure we have many adventures ahead of us. :-)

  4. Thanks!! Yes, I am sure your ropes course was higher. THIS was the children's course for ages 7-11. They also had a Junior Course for taller kiddos. And then, of course, an adult course which was LITERALLY in the treetops. Looked awesome!
