Kimmie Lately
- Favorite quote I last heard - "Sometimes the only way to catch your breath is to lose it."
- I dropped my Diet Dr Pepper habit cold turkey a good while back. I dropped having sodas here at the house at all. Then Lasa returned and weeks turned to months and I had to have SOMETHING to jolt me awake during the day. So a SINGLE case of Dr. Peppers were invited back into the house, hold the diet. When I have a diet anything, I get headaches within minutes now. Which is so surprising because I used to have several a day sometimes, and now I can't take one at all.
- I take fish oil and magnesium every day with a multivitamin. And my bones creak. When I get up, lots of pops and cracks. I am getting olllllllllld. Also, my most worrisome ailment is my right knee. Lots of hurt. I should probably go to the doctor, but I am opting to be a bonehead about it for awhile longer.
- I have bad, bad, bad luck with ice-makers. I have NEVER not had a broken ice-maker in my freezer. I have dreams of one day owning a fridge/freezer that works properly on all fronts. Dreaming big!
- I wrestle with fretting money. And the Lord keeps telling me to hush that mess up, that He is my provider. And he keeps proving it! Really really special things have happened that I just know are for me from Him to speak to my heart. And I hear Him loud and clear ... and yet it takes concentrated effort STILL to not feel like I need to clutch at every savings and deal I can get my hands on while I can get my hands on it, or to not panic when we spill formula or waste/lose something that had to be bought, or need car repairs or kid surgery, whatever! Help me, Lord!
- I am the kinda bedtime note-taking, list-loving, recording sort of girl that has pen marks on my pillow year round. And now that I am into bible journaling, I have lots of eraser shavings around my pillow, too.
- My kids can pack their own lunches now. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?!?
- I am friends-of-some-sort with a cocaine addict these days. It's a strange life.
- Oh my soul, how I love the rain. The older I get, the stronger the connection is.
- I have lived next door to an Elvis impersonator for 7 years now. And it STILL never gets old to see him all glitzed up in his white jumper and oversized glasses pulling out of his driveway. I always giggle about it. I even murmur to anyone who will listen, "Elvis has LEFT the cul-de-sac."
- Oh, Tennessee, how I love the common sights I see every week of wild turkeys. Every week. And most recently, a family of turkeys in the trees behind our house. And I mean, UP in the trees. It sounds like branches are coming down when they flap around up in there. One day, we came home to TEN TURKEYS in our backyard ... eight of them babies. For the rest of my life, when I see wild turkeys, I will think of TN.
- Ohhhhh, humility. 2015's chosen wise word. We are in each other's face this week especially. It's uncomfortable. But I needed to stare it down again. It IS my word project this year after all. And when I get comfortable with its lowly position, I find it actually is just that ... comfortable. A relief. A blessing.
I love that you are writing this sort of thing on the blog too. Your kids will look back and be able to glimpse the thoughts and life of their momma. ...since you print thte blog out each year... So cool.
ReplyDeleteI hope so! I also hope they can get to know some of that too just by my writing "voice". I do so ♥ blogging for so many reasons.
